Epica

Anuncian en su página web que Simone Simons se encuentra recuperada de su infección llamada MRSA, pero que uno de los 4 test del virus sigue resultando positivo y por eso todavía no está preparada para salir de gira con ellos. Por ello, han decidido girar con Amanda Somerville (Avantasia, etc), ya que ella siempre ha estado unida a la banda desde los comienzos haciendo coros y dando apoyo vocal a Simone. Esperan que este tiempo alcanze para que Simone se recupere y esté lista para unirse a la banda para los próximos conciertos en Holanda.

También habla Amanda diciendo más o menos lo mismo y agrega que acompañará a la banda en sus fechas canadienses y norteamericanas entre abril y mayo, que son muy amigos suyos, que ha trabajado con ellos desde el primer disco y que siempre le ha gustado la banda. Entiende que para algunos fans de la banda pueda suponer un inconveniente o que no estén muy de acuerdo con que ella sustituya a Simone en esos conciertos pero que tienen que darse cuenta que es un problema delicado y una situación temporal, además de que es mejor alternativa para la banda que cancelar la gira.
Remarca finalmente que no tiene ninguna intención de reemplazar a Simone porque ella es única como cantante y frontwoman pero intentará hacerlo lo mejor posible para que los fans de Epica no la echen demasiado de menos en esos conciertos. Cierra diciendo que ella ha co-escrito muchos de los temas de la banda y que ha sido la entrenadora vocal de Simone durante la grabación de los discos, por lo que conoce perfectamente esos temas y se siente muy cómoda interpretando las canciones y haciéndolas suyas de algún modo.

Nightwish nuevo single en Mayo

El 21 de Mayo, Nightwish saca su nuevo single "The Islander" en formato CD/DVD via Nuclear Blast, donde tambien se incluiran los videos de Bye Bye Beatiful y The Islander.

El video de The Islander fue filmado el otoño pasado en Rovaniemi y fue dirigido por Stobe Harju. El estreno de este video será el día 14 de Abril en el programa finés de Mtv "Spanking New".

Realizaron dos video para su próximo disco"Carved in Stone", de los temas "Lord Of The Flies" y "Open My Grave". Según ellos, "mientras que "Lord of the Flies" es un video oscuro y oculto con muchos actores e invitados (como el cantante Jen Majura), "Open My Grave" está más centrado en la banda y sus instrumentos".La filmación se llevó a cabo en la cavidad de un viejo cobertizo del siglo 18.
